Eric Kortz, MD
Dr. Eric Kortz is a native of Colorado. Following graduation from Thomas Jefferson High School, he attended the University of Vermont, graduating Magna Cum Laude. In 1982, he graduated from the University of Colorado Medical School with honors in surgery. He received his general surgery training at the Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston. During his residency, he spent three years in government service as a research fellow at the National Institute of Health. Upon completion of his general surgery training, Dr. Kortz extended his postgraduate training with a two-year fellowship in liver surgery and pancreas surgery, as well as kidney, pancreas, and liver transplantation at University of Chicago. He returned to Colorado in 1992. As a result of his extensive training and he complexity of clinical practice since 1992, Dr. Eric Kortz is considered one of the most experienced hepatobiliary and pancreas surgeons in the Rocky Mountain region with outcomes that meet or exceed national benchmarks.Dr. Eric Kortz has been selected as 5280 Magazine's Top Doctors on 16 separate occasions in 4 seperate categories.His personal interests include hiking, camping and skiing.
